Toronto, Ontario –March 23, 2017– Baylin Technologies Inc. (“Baylin”) (TSX: BYL) today announced the grand opening of its Galtronics R&D Centre of Excellence in Tempe, Arizona.
The Baylin Board of Directors travelled to Tempe, Arizona on March 9, 2017 to conduct their 2016 year-end and Q4 Board Meeting and to show full support of the investment they have made in Tempe. For the Ribbon Cutting festivities the group welcomed executives from the City of Tempe, the Tempe Chamber of Commerce and Arizona State University as they celebrated the opening of the brand new 18,000 square foot R&D and warehouse facility. Baylin has created a state-of-the-art design centre with a goal of maintaining its position at the forefront of the wireless antenna sector and attracting the best engineering talent.
“We have operated in Tempe for two decades and the decision to increase our investment and double our workforce comes at a very important time in the wireless industry as network expansion and densification continues”, explained President and CEO, Randy Dewey. “Our R&D centre in Tempe is close to a very talented pool of wireless RF and mechanical engineers graduating from ASU and the University of Arizona in Tucson. The State of Arizona and the City of Tempe have created a favourable business environment that offers meaningful incentives. We look forward to many more decades of prosperity here.”
The new location is bigger than the size of its previous two Tempe locations and provides a creative work environment for top engineers and technical staff. Galtronics’ plans are to recruit the best engineering professionals from the local tech friendly community.
Tempe Mayor, Mark Mitchell, said “We welcome the global ingenuity that Galtronics brings to our community and we thank CEO Randy Dewey and CTO David Wittwer for choosing to continue to invest in Tempe”.
