Director, Product Line Management


Resides in Tempe, Arizona or Ottawa, Ontario 

Position Description


As leader of product development and direction, this role will work with, and liaise between, Engineering, Sales and Customers to grow sales in existing and new product lines. Responsible for product & project profitability, the PLM Director will develop business cases to assess product development, work with sales to develop product pricing strategies and ensure antenna products are specified (to engineering) to compete in a global business. The Director will report to the President of Galtronics but will maintain a strong working relationship with Sales and Engineering VPs.

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Responsible for profit and loss for antenna product line(s)
  • Run business cases for development of existing product lines:
    • Work with engineering team in Canada and Arizona
    • Work with US Sales teams
    • Work with production facilities in China and Vietnam
  • Work with customers and Sales to define antenna requirements and work with Engineering to define antenna specifications.
  • Responsible for margins and pricing on all Galtronics Infrastructure and Embedded antenna projects
    • Regular reevaluation of pricing strategy
  • Specify market requirements for current and future antenna products by conducting market research supported by ongoing visits to customers
  • Investigate new product lines and business areas
  • Become the point-person on customer RFI’s and RFP’s
  • Maintain a comprehensive product presentation and support the development of marketing collateral
  • Train sales and support personnel to effectively sell Galtronics products to their customers
  • Analyze sales for the product lines on a regular basis to assess their financial performance
  • Create in-depth competitive analysis, including comparison of performance specifications, features, pricing and roadmaps
  • Attend tradeshows, conferences, industry events, as needed.
  • Support and defend technical solutions with customers, as required
  • Visit customers with Sales directors, as needed
  • Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS


  • A Bachelor’s in Engineering or related discipline
  • A Master’s in Engineering or MBA is an asset
  • A minimum of 5 years of business development, sales, and marketing experience in the wireless market with a technical background in the area of RF / Microwave products / systems
  • Engineering design experience in RF / Microwave is a strong asset
  • Technical understanding or ability to understand wireless antenna performance characteristics
  • Experience and understanding of RF planning and propagation tools is an asset
  • Experience and understanding of Wi-Fi networks is an asset
  • Financial Analysis, Accounting, Proposal Development, Cost Estimating and Forecasting
  • Knowledge of wireless markets
  • Ability to travel up to approximately 30% of the time; domestically and internationally
